WEEK IN REVIEW: Lions rookies well represented in offseason awards
January 20, 2018 02:00 PM
The Detroit Lions relied on their 2017 draft class quite a bit this past season, and the rookies did not disappoint.

With the completion of the regular season, multiple national outlets and analysts are putting together their dream teams and awards, and the Lions rookies are cleaning up.

Fifth-round pick Jamal Agnew was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press as a punt returner. He also made the All-Rookie teams by Pro Football Journal and the Pro Football Writers Association.

First-round pick Jarrad Davis also made the PFJ and PFWA All-Rookie teams at inside linebacker. And third-round pick Kenny Golladay made PFJ's All-Rookie second team, despite missing five games with a hamstring injury.

It's a pretty significant set of accomplishments for a draft class looking to improve in year two.

"I just look back and I wish I would have gotten those five games that I missed," Golladay said after the final game of the season. "I was blessed enough to come back from the injury and make plays for this team."

"First off, I'm going to rest the body a little bit. I have to take a little time off. But then just work on the little things I feel like can help me become a better receiver for this team. I'm excited."
